Guidewire, a U.S.-based provider of insurance technology for property and casualty insurers, is expanding its operations in India with the launch of a new Global Capability Centre in Bengaluru and plans to double its local workforce to 1,000 employees by 2028. The company currently employs around 540 engineers across its Bengaluru and Chennai offices, working on global product development in areas such as cloud platforms, AI-driven underwriting, and data analytics.
The new facility spans over 81,000 square feet and is designed to support growth, collaboration, and innovation. Guidewire sees India as a strategic hub for both engineering and professional services, reflecting the country’s evolution from a traditional back-office location to a global innovation centre.
To strengthen local talent development, Guidewire has partnerships with institutions like NIT Calicut, PES University, and Amrita University, and runs initiatives like the ElevatED scholarship and mentorship programme for underprivileged female students. This expansion aligns with broader trends in the technology sector, where global companies are deepening their investments in India to harness its skilled workforce and contribute to digital transformation in key industries.
