TVS Motor Company has announced the acquisition of Engines Engineering S.p.A., an Italian automotive design and engineering firm, as part of a strategic push to strengthen its global innovation footprint. The move includes establishing a Global Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Design and Engineering in Bologna, Italy. Engines Engineering is known for its advanced prototyping capabilities, expertise in high-performance motorcycle development, and experience in MotoGP racing.
Under this plan, TVS will integrate Engines Engineering’s technical skill set with its existing global research and development resources. This integration aims to speed up product development, improve design differentiation, and broaden technological leadership by bringing together diverse engineering teams and global talent.
The CoE will also support Norton Motorcycles, TVS’s British luxury brand, in developing modern high-performance bikes. According to the company, the centre’s focus will include design leadership, digital simulation, rapid prototyping, and future mobility technologies such as AI-driven design tools.
TVS expects this initiative to reduce development cycles, expand its premium product portfolio, and accelerate its pace in premium, connected, and electric vehicles across international markets.
