PUNE | 2 July 2026: Schmersal Group has officially inaugurated its expanded Global Competence Centre (SGCC) in Pune, strengthening its digital engineering and innovation footprint in India. Located within AP4 Tech Park in the Kharadi-Wagholi corridor, the facility brings together the company’s global software development, information technology and embedded engineering teams under a unified innovation hub.

While Schmersal has maintained a manufacturing presence in the country for over a decade, the expanded SGCC broadens the mandate beyond production to include global product engineering, software development and digital innovation.

Alongside the facility launch, the company introduced six new “Make in India” industrial safety products, including advanced magnetic switches and automated parking control systems developed locally for global markets. The new facility also houses a dedicated Product Experience Centre operated by tec.nicum, Schmersal’s specialized safety services division, offering consulting, compliance audits and systems integration services for industrial customers.
