Pune | 28 November 2025: Global enterprises are increasingly treating GCCs and GBS hubs as strategic assets enabling global delivery, innovation, agility, and scale. Swiss engineering and technology leader Sulzer has inaugurated a new Global Business Services (GBS) centre in Pune, underscoring its long-term commitment to India’s growing role in global operations.
The new Pune hub, formally opened by Her Excellency Maya Tissafi (Ambassador of Switzerland to India and Bhutan) alongside Dr Suzanne Thoma, Executive Chairwoman of Sulzer, is designed to host around 350 professionals tasked with handling critical global functions including IT, Legal, Compliance, and Supply-Chain Management.
Sulzer’s Longstanding India Legacy – Expanding Delivery Capabilities
Having maintained a presence in India since 1988 via manufacturing and industrial service centres across Mumbai, Ambernath, Chennai, Vadodara and Pune, Sulzer has steadily fortified its footprint across engineering, manufacturing, and service delivery.
The newly launched GBS hub is part of Sulzer’s broader Business Services Initiative, aimed at consolidating shared services and back-office operations to drive efficiency, scalability, and global delivery excellence. Pune’s rich talent pool, advancing infrastructure, and strategic location within India’s industrial ecosystem made it the ideal choice for this expansion.
“Sulzer, with its 191 years of engineering excellence, continues to innovate and thrive on change. The Pune hub, with its regional and global reach, is built on the expertise of our Indian colleagues and an inspiring example of our company’s continuous evolution following the needs of our customers.”
