10 October 2026: Orbia, a global provider of solutions across water, food, infrastructure, and connectivity, has appointed Bijal Shah as the Head of its Global Capability Center (GCC) in Pune. In this executive capacity, she will manage the strategic direction, operational performance, and continued expansion of the capability center to support the company’s worldwide operations.
Taking on this mandate, Bijal will focus on driving technological innovation, talent development, and cross-functional integration. She brings more than 23 years of global leadership experience spanning technology, operations, financial services, and capability centers. She spent 16 years at Genworth Financial, where she most recently served as Country Leader for India. Her responsibilities there included leading the company’s India operations and supporting organisational capabilities and enterprise-wide transformation. Earlier in her career, Shah worked at Patni Computer Systems, later associated with iGATE, as a Software Specialist. That experience gave her a foundation in technology before she moved into broader leadership and operational responsibilities.
Reflecting on her appointment, she shared on LinkedIn: “The opportunity ahead is compelling – to build on the foundation of the India GCC and further strengthen it as a strategic partner to Orbia’s global businesses, creating meaningful impact through talent, technology, innovation and operational excellence.”
By combining her extensive background in scaling global capability centers with her expertise in financial and operational leadership, her role will center on positioning the Pune GCC as a core innovation and execution engine for Orbia’s global footprint.
