Insulet Corporation, a US-based medical technology company, has inaugurated its new Global Capability Center in Guadalajara, Mexico, reinforcing the city’s growing role in the technology and innovation landscape. The facility, backed by a US$30 million investment, is expected to create around 1,000 specialized jobs in areas including customer service, finance, information technology, supply chain, software development and advanced technologies, according to Jalisco’s Minister of Economic Development.
Officials highlighted that choosing Guadalajara over other cities in Mexico and Latin America reflects the region’s strong reputation as a hub for foreign direct investment and its deep pool of skilled, bilingual talent. The new center enhances Jalisco’s position in high-value sectors and adds to the state’s strategy to attract innovative global companies to scale operations, connect with international markets and drive economic growth.
Insulet, known for its Omnipod insulin delivery system and pioneering automated, tubeless insulin pumps controlled via smartphone, operates manufacturing sites and offices across multiple regions including the United States, Malaysia, Europe, Asia, Canada and the Middle East. Establishing this capability center underscores the company’s commitment to expanding global capabilities while leveraging regional talent and innovation in digital health and medical technology.
