Guidewire, a global leader in insurance technology for non-life insurers, has opened a new office at Prestige Tech Park in Bengaluru, marking a major step in its expansion in India. The larger facility reflects strong growth in the region as the company builds cloud-native solutions, attracts skilled engineers, and helps insurers accelerate their digital transformation. The India teams have grown significantly since Guidewire first entered the market through the Cyence acquisition in 2017 and later opened a Bengaluru Development Centre in 2021. Today, around 540 engineers across Bengaluru and Chennai work on global product development, focusing on cloud platforms, AI-driven underwriting, and data analytics.
The launch event brought together Guidewire employees, partners, and industry experts, and included a keynote by Dr. Pramod Varma, Chief Architect of Aadhaar, who spoke on secure, scalable technology. A CXO roundtable examined the future of insurtech in India and its role in supporting the government’s “Insurance for All by 2047” vision. Mohammed Anzy S, Guidewire India’s Managing Director and VP of Engineering, said the office will be a hub for innovation and collaboration and supports the company’s goal to double its India workforce by 2028. The space also emphasizes sustainability and cultural design, and Guidewire is investing in talent development through programs and partnerships with universities and scholarship initiatives.
