Danish IT firm EGDK India Private Limited has experienced rapid growth at its Mangaluru office, expanding from just 20 employees in 2019 to 850 staff by 2025, with annual revenue rising from about ₹4 crore to around ₹100 crore. The company, owned by EG A/S Denmark, focuses on health and safety software products for European markets and has turned its Mangaluru unit into a major offshore engineering and Global Capability Centre.
EGDK India’s journey started in 2004 as FrontAvenue InfoSolutions in Bengaluru, initially handling customer projects before shifting to product development. The 2021 acquisition by EG A/S Denmark marked a turning point, transforming the operation from a delivery setup into a strategic partner driving core technology initiatives across more than 14 business units.
Choosing Mangaluru, a tier-2 city, helped the company tap into a skilled talent pool from local universities, benefit from lower attrition, and build strong team cohesion with values that align closely with Nordic work culture. Teams in Mangaluru now handle the full product lifecycle, including development, testing, UX, AI, customer support, and internal IT.
Cross-cultural collaboration challenges were addressed through ongoing dialogue and exchange visits between India and Denmark, strengthening communication and mutual understanding.
