Carlsberg Group has launched its first-ever IT Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Gurugram, India, marking a major step in the company’s global digital transformation strategy and deepening its presence in a key growth market. The centre will deliver managed IT services, infrastructure operations, and application support for Carlsberg’s global footprint across more than 150 markets, positioning India as a technology and innovation hub.
Operated in partnership with global IT services and consultancy firm GSPANN under a build-operate model, the GCC retains strategic control with Carlsberg while GSPANN manages day-to-day operations, talent acquisition, and service delivery. In Phase 1, the centre is expected to employ over 300 professionals across Gurugram and a supporting team in Hyderabad, with plans to expand further.
Carlsberg’s CIO, Esther Wu, said the initiative will strengthen the company’s IT backbone, accelerate digital innovation, and build resilience and sustainability in its global operations, drawing on India’s deep talent pool. The centre will focus on automation-led processes, enterprise standardisation, agile technology solutions, and secure operations to support faster growth and smarter data use.
