June 2026: Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) has announced the appointment of Ganesh Vijaypurkar to lead its Bengaluru Global Capability Centre (GCC). This strategic leadership addition reinforces the bank’s commitment to scaling its technological and operational infrastructure in India to support its global financial ecosystem.

Bringing a wealth of global leadership experience in banking operations, Ganesh has built an extensive executive career. Prior to joining ANZ, he held significant senior roles at Citigroup. His long-standing tenure at Citi included serving as Managing Director, Head of Operations and Technology Risk and Control for EMEA & LATAM, functioning as the Head of the Pune Citi Service Centre, and holding interim executive leadership for EMEA Operations and Technology.

In his new role, Ganesh will be responsible for spearheading the overarching strategy and day-to-day execution of the Bengaluru GCC. His operational mandate will center on enhancing institutional knowledge, optimizing enterprise workflows, and cementing the hub as a core driver of innovation for ANZ globally.

Reflecting on his new and collaborative journey ahead, Ganesh shared:
