May 7, 2026: In a significant leadership move reflecting the growing strategic importance of Global Capability Centers (GCCs) within Indian conglomerates, Adani Group has appointed Sudhir Dasamantharao as the Chief Executive Officer of Adani Enterprise GCC.
The appointment comes at a time when enterprise GCCs in India are evolving beyond traditional shared services models into strategic hubs driving AI-led transformation, digital operations, enterprise innovation, and global business enablement.
A transformation specialist with more than two decades of experience across global operations, shared services, business transformation, GCC strategy, and deep roots in companies like McKinsey and Boston Scientific, Sudhir brings extensive expertise in scaling enterprise-wide innovation and operational excellence, as the organization accelerates the development of its Global Capability Center ecosystem. His leadership journey also includes roles such as Chairperson of the Board at Giftt Consulting and Chief Operating Officer at FourthSquare, alongside senior transformation and shared services leadership mandates at EY, HSBC, Capital One, and American Express.
The development is particularly notable for India’s GCC ecosystem. Traditionally dominated by multinational corporations, the GCC model is now increasingly being embraced by large Indian enterprises seeking to centralize digital capabilities, AI operations, analytics, transformation programs, and enterprise platforms from India.
Sudhir highlighted the transformative potential of the Adani GCC in a recent statement:
“Joining the Adani Group is a remarkable opportunity to build a world-class GCC that acts as a digital nerve center for such a diverse and impactful portfolio. Our goal is to drive synergy and operational excellence that supports the Group’s ambitious growth plans across energy, infrastructure, and beyond.”
For the broader GCC industry, the move reinforces the ongoing shift from cost-focused delivery centers toward strategic enterprise capability hubs that influence innovation, business transformation, and long-term enterprise value creation.
