HYDERABAD | 10 August 2026: US-based cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) provider Acumatica has launched its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad. Located in the premier technology corridor of Nanakramguda, the new facility marks an important step in the company’s international engineering expansion. The centre initially operates with more than 30 employees, with a primary focus on engineering and product development. Acumatica expects the Hyderabad GCC to evolve into a broader centre of engineering excellence supporting its global products and customers.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- The Hyderabad Capability Engine: Operating out of Nanakramguda, the facility has launched with an initial team of 30+ employees, focusing primarily on engineering and product development. The centre is expected to expand its capabilities as Acumatica’s global operations and product needs evolve.
- Global Engineering Network: The Hyderabad hub joins Acumatica’s existing technology operations across the United States, Canada, Serbia and Sri Lanka, creating another engineering node within its globally distributed technology organisation.
- Product-Led Mandate: Rather than being positioned as a conventional support operation, the centre is designed around engineering excellence and global product development, with its work expected to support Acumatica’s products and customers worldwide.
- Seed-to-Scale Approach: Acumatica has deliberately begun with a 30+ member initial team, creating a focused engineering base that can mature and scale as the company’s India capability develops. Additional functions may be added over time.
Headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, Acumatica operates as a cloud ERP provider focused primarily on small and mid-sized businesses. Its solutions serve industries including manufacturing, distribution, construction, retail, professional services and field service.
Acumatica operates a geographically distributed global organisation spanning the US, Canada, Serbia, Sri Lanka and now India. Its 2024 ESG report cited 10,000+ customers and approximately 690 employees globally, providing context for the strategic significance of establishing a new engineering capability in India.
In a digital landscape where enterprises demand greater agility, Acumatica’s cloud ERP platform combines business management capabilities with a consumption-based commercial model that allows unlimited users, with pricing influenced by applications, business usage/resource requirements and deployment preferences.
THE NEW CAPABILITY HUB
Far from a conventional transaction centre, the Hyderabad GCC is being established around product engineering and technology development. The operations inside the hub focus on next-generation software architecture and product innovation:
- Cloud-Native Engineering & AI Integration: The localized engineering teams will contribute to Acumatica’s cloud ERP platform and its evolving AI capabilities. Under the technical leadership of Chief Engineering Officer Miten Mehta, Acumatica is focused on embedding practical Artificial Intelligence (AI), adaptive intelligence and automated workflows into its core ERP architecture to address real-world business challenges.
- Agile Product Expansion: Engineers within the Nanakramguda facility will form part of Acumatica’s global product-development ecosystem, supporting future product releases and enabling the platform to evolve with changing customer and market requirements.
We have created the core of our growth engine in India with an initial seed, and we look forward to it becoming a mature tree and a major contributor to the success of Acumatica customers and Acumatica itself…India’s deep engineering talent pool, thriving technology ecosystem, and growing reputation as a destination for global innovation centres make Hyderabad the ideal home for this next chapter of how we deliver value to small and mid-sized businesses.
The choice to anchor this strategic hub in Nanakramguda reflects Hyderabad’s deep engineering talent pool and established technology ecosystem, providing Acumatica with access to the capabilities required to build and scale a global engineering organisation.
THE AI CONTEXT: BUILDING PRACTICAL INTELLIGENCE INTO ERP
Acumatica’s Hyderabad expansion is a significant point in the company’s product evolution. AI is increasingly being embedded directly into its cloud ERP platform rather than treated as a separate technology layer.
- AI Assistant & AI Studio: Acumatica’s 2026 R1 release expanded its AI capabilities, including AI Assistant and AI Studio, bringing natural-language interaction, intelligent workflows and configurable AI into the ERP environment.
- AI-Driven Insights & Automation: The platform’s AI capabilities extend to intelligent advisors, anomaly detection, workflow automation and actionable business insights.
The strategic significance for the Hyderabad GCC is clear: the centre is being established at a time when ERP product engineering itself is becoming increasingly AI-intensive.
For an engineering-led GCC, this creates opportunities across:
Product Engineering → Data & AI → Intelligent Automation → Platform Architecture → Customer-Centric Innovation
ACUMATICA’S PRACTICAL AI APPROACH
Acumatica’s AI strategy provides a useful illustration of the type of product innovation its Hyderabad engineering capability can support. Rather than positioning AI as a standalone feature, Acumatica is building interconnected capabilities around:
- AI as an Intelligent Advisor
Identifying anomalies, forecasting scenarios and surfacing actionable insights. - AI-Driven Automation
Embedding AI into workflows to automate complex and repetitive processes. - Interactive AI Assistants
Allowing users to interact with ERP data and actions through natural-language interfaces. The company’s 2026 R1 release further expanded these capabilities through AI Assistant, AI Studio and anomaly detection.
GCC implication: When AI becomes part of the core product architecture, the GCC supporting that product can move beyond feature development into AI engineering, platform innovation and product-led value creation.
