11 September 2026: Zurich Insurance GCC has appointed Ganesh Rao as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) at its Hyderabad Global Capability Centre (GCC). In this role, he will join the organization’s leadership team to manage operational expansion and strengthen capabilities supporting the global enterprise.

Taking on this comprehensive mandate, Ganesh will focus on driving center growth, business transformation, and evolving the Hyderabad facility into a strategic partner for Zurich’s global business. His responsibilities encompass operational strategy, digital transformation, governance, risk management, compliance, and vendor procurement.

He brings extensive expertise spanning global capability centers, global business services, strategy, finance, and operations. Prior to joining Zurich, he served as Head of Shared Services and Chief Administrative Officer at Principal Financial Group, where he managed global delivery and operations for enterprise corporate functions. His career also includes key leadership roles such as Head of Global Delivery for Group Corporate Functions at Allianz Services, Chief Financial Officer and Director of Finance & Accounting at CMA CGM Global Business Services, and AGM of Service Delivery at A.P. Moller – Maersk. His operational background is supported by professional qualifications and leadership affiliations across financial and administrative governance.
