10 August 2026: Schaeffler India has appointed Amit Bhalerao as their Chief Operating Officer (COO). This vital executive addition is in line with the company’s objective to scale its manufacturing footprint and architecting future-ready operational excellence across one of its most pivotal global growth markets.

Taking command of his new mandate, Amit will spearhead Schaeffler India’s end-to-end manufacturing operations. As a core member of the Executive Leadership Team, he is tasked with driving rigorous operational frameworks, crafting forward-looking manufacturing strategies, and accelerating enterprise-wide digital transformation. By actively collaborating with business and functional leaders, his visionary oversight will be highly instrumental in elevating operational performance, championing localization initiatives, and scaling advanced capability development across the company’s expansive network of plants.

He brings experience of over 23 years of global experience spanning complex manufacturing, lean transformation, quality governance, and supply chain leadership. He transitions to Schaeffler following a highly impactful tenure as Managing Director and Vice President of Operations at Kelvion India, where he successfully drove large-scale capacity expansion, business performance, and technology transfer initiatives. His career trajectory is further highlighted by senior leadership stints at prominent industrial and engineering giants, including Cummins, Eaton, and Sterlite Technologies.
