3 August 2026: In a strategic move to strengthen its regional leadership and scale its workforce capabilities, U.S. Bank has appointed Cynthia O’Connor as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for its India operations. In this executive role, Cynthia will spearhead the organization’s overarching people strategy, talent agenda, and robust HR-transformation initiatives, actively support the bank’s business growth and expand footprint in the country.

Bringing over two decades of extensive cross-industry experience to the mandate, Cynthia specializes in strategic human resources, talent management, leadership development, and large-scale organizational transformation. She joins U.S. Bank following a tenure at NatWest Group, where she served as Director HR and HR Business Partner for Technology. Prior to that, she spent over seven years at Standard Chartered Bank as Vice President and Head of HR for Technology, driving the people agenda for a global tech workforce across India, Malaysia, China, and Poland.

Her career trajectory also includes senior HR and operational leadership roles at Diversi Foods (UK), Sutherland Global Services, Infosys BPO, Hewlett-Packard, and Amazon. Armed with a deep understanding of scaling technology and global business services organizations through complex growth phases, her oversight at U.S. Bancorp India is poised to significantly elevate talent development, drive organizational capability, and cultivate a world-class employee experience.
