June 2026: Axis Bank has announced the appointment of Namrata Dubashi as its Artificial Intelligence Officer, making it one of the early adopters among Indian banks to establish a dedicated AI leadership role as competition over enterprise AI adoption intensifies across the financial sector.
Dubashi joined Axis bank after nearly two decades at McKinsey & Company, where she built deep expertise in technology-driven transformation, business strategy, and operations. Throughout her career as a management consultant, she partnered with large-scale organizations to navigate complex technological shifts, simplify operating models, and drive sustainable operational changes.
In her new role, Namrata will be tasked with deploying artificial intelligence across critical banking functions, including customer experience, risk management, loan assessment, fraud detection, and overall operational efficiency.
Reflecting on his new journey, Namrata shared:
