June 2026: Media and entertainment broadcaster Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has appointed Rasesh Upadhyay as its new Deputy Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The leadership transition comes as the organization sharpens its focus on financial discipline, business planning, and performance management amid the rapid digital transformation of the broadcasting industry

Rasesh brings over 20 years of cross‑sector experience in financial management, corporate strategy, and enterprise transformation across media, entertainment, telecom, and sports. Before joining SPNI, he was Head of Strategy & Operations in the CEO’s Office at JioStar, driving enterprise‑wide priorities and governance programs. His career includes leadership roles at Star India, Bharti Airtel, and Etisalat DB, where he built a strong track record in navigating industry shifts and delivering large‑scale operational excellence

In his new role, Rasesh will work closely with SPNI’s executive leadership to strengthen the company’s financial strategy and operational efficiency. His role extends beyond traditional finance responsibilities; he will also oversee the company’s commercial function. This segment will now report directly into the finance division, a structural shift aimed at driving a more integrated approach between commercial decision-making and long-term financial outcomes.
