April, 2026: The Magnum Ice Cream Company has appointed Azzmin Mehta as Global Business Services (GBS) HR Lead for its Pune operations, marking another significant leadership addition within India’s fast-evolving GBS and GCC ecosystem.

The appointment reflects the growing strategic importance of people leadership within next-generation GBS organizations, particularly as enterprises increasingly focus on building capability-driven, culture-centric, and transformation-oriented global operations hubs in India.

Azzmin brings extensive experience across human resources leadership, organizational transformation, talent management, learning and development, and employee engagement. Prior to joining The Magnum Ice Cream Company, she served as Head of Human Resources at COWRKS, where she led enterprise HR initiatives, talent acquisition strategies, diversity programs, mentorship interventions, and policy modernization initiatives.

Her professional journey also includes several leadership roles across Genpact, Marriott International, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, and JW Marriott, where she managed large-scale people operations, learning ecosystems, and HR transformation mandates across global and enterprise environments. In her current role, Azzmin’s focus is on strengthening HR strategy and people operations for the company’s GBS organization in Pune, while helping build a high-performance, people-centric culture aligned with global business priorities.

The development is particularly noteworthy in the context of India’s growing prominence as a strategic destination for GCB/GCCs. Organizations are increasingly investing in India not only for operational scale, but also for leadership capability, talent transformation, enterprise innovation, and global workforce management.

The appointment highlights several broader shifts reshaping the GCC and GBS landscape:

  • HR leadership is becoming central to GCC transformation agendas
  • People strategy is emerging as a core differentiator for enterprise capability centers
  • India-based GBS organizations are increasingly focused on culture-building and workforce transformation
  • Pune continues to strengthen its position as a major GCC and GBS talent hub
  • Greenfield GCC/GBS setups are placing stronger emphasis on leadership-led organizational design

Azzmin herself described the opportunity as a “greenfield” journey to build a meaningful and people-focused GBS ecosystem from the ground up in Pune.

As GCCs evolve from transactional delivery models into enterprise capability hubs, leadership roles spanning talent, culture, workforce strategy, and organizational transformation are becoming increasingly critical to long-term success.
