Hyderabad| 03 March 2026: Silicon Labs, a global leader in low-power wireless connectivity and IoT semiconductor solutions, has expanded its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, increasing the facility’s footprint by 50%.

Silicon Labs is the leading innovator in low-power wireless connectivity, providing a comprehensive, integrated platform of hardware and software designed to help developers bring secure, intelligent IoT solutions to market faster. With nearly 30 years of expertise, supporting the most critical protocols, including Matter, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Zigbee. Their current strategy centers on the “Next Generation” of wireless technology, highlighted by the launch of xG301 Series 3 Wireless SoCs and the AI-enabled Simplicity Ecosystem, which features built-in AI/ML hardware accelerators for edge intelligence. By combining industry-leading security with ultra-low power performance, Silicon Labs powers mission-critical applications across the Smart Home, Industrial IoT, and Connected Health landscapes

Expanding the Core of Wireless Engineering

Scaling our Hyderabad site is about building more capacity for invention and execution. With new labs and collaboration space, this facility strengthens Hyderabad’s role as a core R&D center for Silicon Labs, including expanded work across hardware and wireless development.

– Manish Kothari, Senior Vice President of Software Development

The upgraded Hyderabad facility now includes advanced wireless laboratories dedicated to design, testing, and system integration. These labs enable teams to work across the full lifecycle of wireless product development—from chip design and firmware development to system validation.

New infrastructure at the centre includes:

  • Dedicated wireless design and validation labs
  • High-precision hardware testing environments
  • Expanded engineering collaboration zones

Strategic Outlook

Hyderabad has become a critical hub in our global engineering and operations footprint. This expansion is a long-term investment in talent, innovation, and global collaboration. It strengthens our ability to deliver secure, power-efficient wireless solutions to customers worldwide while deepening the collaboration of our teams across the United States, Europe, and Asia.

– Matt Johnson, President and CEO, Silicon Labs

Since launching operations in 2020, Silicon Labs has more than tripled its workforce in India, transforming the Hyderabad centre into a critical engineering hub within its global R&D ecosystem. The facility collaborates closely with teams across the United States, Europe, and Asia, supporting the development of wireless technologies used in smart homes, industrial automation, and connected infrastructure.

As demand for secure, low-power IoT connectivity continues to accelerate, the expanded Hyderabad hub strengthens Silicon Labs’ ability to design and scale next-generation wireless solutions globally. The investment reinforces Hyderabad’s growing role as a strategic centre for semiconductor engineering and IoT innovation within the company’s worldwide technology network.

About SSF Global
SSF Global is a Global Community for Enterprise Function Leaders and serves as a research & advisory platform focused on Global Business Services (GBS), Global Capability Centres (GCCs), and the evolution of enterprise innovation in India and beyond. We track, publish, and partner in narratives that shape how capability centres transform into hubs of trust, intelligence, and sustainable growth. We also evaluate, assess and benchmark the GCCs for their performance, maturity and other parameters using our proprietary tools built from the knowledge gained from direct interaction with our members (GCCs & GBS).
