Bengaluru | 28 January 2026: Global renal care leader Fresenius Medical Care has officially inaugurated its Global Business Services (GBS) office in Bengaluru, marking a strategic expansion in its global operations and signalling India’s growing importance as a capability centre for the healthcare sector.

The new GBS centre, designed to attract, nurture, and develop specialised talent across India, was formally opened this week with company executives, employees, and partners in attendance. According to company announcements, the facility will play a central role in supporting Fresenius Medical Care’s mission to deliver advanced healthcare services while strengthening operational excellence on a global scale.

Fresenius Medical Care, headquartered in Germany, is the world’s leading provider of products and services for people with chronic kidney failure and related renal care needs. The organisation operates thousands of dialysis clinics worldwide and supports millions of patients globally.

At the inauguration event, Fresenius Medical Care leadership emphasised the new centre’s role in fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence. The Bengaluru GBS office is positioned as a talent and operations nucleus that will help drive the company’s healthcare support functions and deliver meaningful outcomes for the communities it serves.

Dr. Vishwanath S, Head of Department & Consultant, Nephrology & Transplant Physician at Manipal Hospitals, Bengaluru, spoke at the event, sharing perspectives on healthcare innovation and the importance of strong support infrastructure. His remarks underscored both the company’s commitment to advancing patient care and the broader ecosystem role played by such capability centres.

The Bengaluru GBS hub is designed to complement Fresenius Medical Care’s existing global network, which encompasses clinical, operational, and support functions across multiple regions. With further expansion planned in the coming months, the centre is expected to significantly contribute to the company’s ability to leverage India’s deep pool of healthcare and technology talent, as well as its cost-effective service delivery capabilities.

Beyond operational efficiency, the hub reflects a broader trend among healthcare and life sciences organisations to establish global shared services and innovation centres in India, leveraging the country’s talent strength and scalable infrastructure. Bengaluru, in particular, has risen as a preferred destination for capability centres, especially those focused on digital, analytics, and specialised business services.

Fresenius Medical Care’s move aligns with its global strategy of enhancing its service and support ecosystem while remaining close to key global markets. As companies increasingly seek agile, collaborative models to drive performance and innovation, India is emerging as a strategic node in the global healthcare support landscape, a positioning that the Bengaluru GBS office is poised to strengthen further.
