Bengaluru | 30 December 2025: DigiKey Electronics, a global leader in electronic components and automation distribution, has reinforced its commitment to India’s technology ecosystem with the official launch of its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru, marking a significant milestone in the company’s global expansion strategy.

The newly established DigiKey India subsidiary, Digi-Key Electronics & Automation Trading Private Limited, will operate the Bengaluru GCC, supporting innovation, collaboration, and global operations. The centre is designed to strengthen DigiKey’s capabilities across technology development, engineering support, digital services, and business operations, demonstrating a long-term investment in India’s skilled workforce and technology ecosystem.

With nearly 300 employees already integrated into its global workforce of more than 4,700 professionals, DigiKey’s move highlights the strategic importance of India as a hub for operational excellence and cutting-edge solutions. The GCC is expected to be instrumental in driving future innovation, expanding hiring, and enhancing the company’s support infrastructure for customers and suppliers worldwide.

Industry analysts view the launch as part of a broader trend of multinational firms expanding their capability centres in India, capitalising on the nation’s growing expertise in technology, engineering, and digital services. Bengaluru’s vibrant talent pool and supportive innovation ecosystem make it a preferred destination for global operations and R&D functions.

DigiKey’s GCC will serve as a technology and collaboration hub, enabling enhanced services for engineering teams, supply chain support mechanisms, and enhanced global customer engagement. The facility underscores the company’s strategy to integrate local talent with global operational frameworks, fostering efficiency and enabling rapid responsiveness to evolving market demands.
