Over the past decade, UBS India has transformed from a cost-focused support unit into a strategic global hub driving innovation, technology and finance for the Swiss banking giant. Since opening its first centre in Pune in 2015, UBS India expanded to Mumbai and Hyderabad, building a diversified capability base that now includes technology, operations, risk, compliance, finance, HR and more.
The India teams today make up roughly 34 percent of UBS’s global technology workforce and 42 percent of its global finance workforce, reflecting a shift from scale to strategic solutions. A major milestone was the full integration of Credit Suisse’s service entities into UBS India, completed in April 2025, bringing together about 24,000 professionals across key cities. This has lifted India into one of the bank’s largest global locations, representing about 16 percent of its worldwide headcount.
India’s deep talent pool, with millions of engineers entering the workforce each year and a strong ecosystem of GCCs, positions UBS to lead in areas like artificial intelligence, advanced analytics and platform engineering. Beyond business execution, UBS India also emphasizes purpose-led initiatives, including education and community programs that have impacted millions of lives. Looking ahead, the focus is on deepening technology leadership and delivering innovation that supports global client experience and growth.
