Rolls-Royce has announced plans to at least double its supply chain sourcing from India by 2030, aligning with the Government of India’s Make in India initiative and broader efforts to integrate Indian industry into global value chains. The company already sources a wide range of high-precision parts and engine components for its Civil Aerospace, Defence, and Power Systems businesses from Indian partners. Over the next five years, Rolls-Royce intends to increase procurement of more complex components, including advanced aerospace engine parts, naval propulsion systems, diesel engines, and gas turbines, further developing local manufacturing capabilities to meet global quality standards.

Nicola Grady-Smith, Chief Transformation Officer at Rolls-Royce, highlighted India’s emergence as a preferred global sourcing hub and the company’s commitment to strengthening relationships with both existing and new suppliers. The move supports India’s vision of self-reliance and economic growth, tapping into local engineering talent and established partnerships with firms like Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Tata, Bharat Forge, and Godrej & Boyce. Over 2,000 highly skilled engineers are already contributing in-country to global Rolls-Royce programmes.
