Global healthcare and pharmaceutical leader Johnson & Johnson (J&J) has selected Hyderabad as the location for its new Global Capability Center (GCC). The facility will operate under J&J’s Innovative Medicine division and is being set up at RMZ Nexity in HITEC City. The center is expected to support key functions including research and development, digital innovation, data analytics, and business transformation, reinforcing Hyderabad’s growing role as a destination for advanced healthcare and life sciences operations.

Though the company has not yet released an official statement, several job openings in Hyderabad across technology, regulatory, and R&D domains point to active recruitment. Unverified sources suggest that the GCC is already operational with teams being onboarded in phases.

J&J’s move adds to a long list of global pharmaceutical and biotech firms that have established major operations in Hyderabad, including Novartis, Sanofi, Bristol Myers Squibb, Roche, and AstraZeneca, highlighting the city’s appeal for international life sciences investment. This development is seen as strengthening the “Genome Valley to HITEC City” corridor, positioning Hyderabad as a global hub for pharmaceutical innovation and healthcare research.
