Carlsberg Group has opened its first IT Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Gurugram, India, marking an important milestone in its global digital transformation efforts. The new centre is designed to strengthen the company’s technology foundation, support innovation, and scale digital operations across more than 150 markets worldwide. It will deliver managed IT services, infrastructure operations, and application support, providing a scalable IT backbone for Carlsberg’s global operations by tapping into India’s deep technology talent pool.
The Gurugram hub has been established in partnership with global IT services provider GSPANN under a build-operate model. Carlsberg retains strategic ownership of the GCC’s roadmap while GSPANN manages day-to-day operations, talent acquisition, and service delivery. An initial team of over 300 professionals will be employed across Gurugram and a supporting technology team in Hyderabad, with plans for further expansion.
Leaders at Carlsberg highlighted the centre’s role in accelerating digital transformation, boosting enterprise-wide standardisation, and embedding new capabilities such as automation, agile processes, and smarter use of data. The move also reflects Carlsberg’s strategic focus on India as a key innovation and growth market.
